Douglas Bay Tramway Heritage Trust is administered by a panel of Trustees with a broad knowledge base and the passion to help the charity achieve its Aims and Objectives.
Current Trustees
Martin Brunnschweiler is a brewer and publican, and founded the Bushy's Brewery on the Isle of Man. Martin is a huge fan of the horse trams, his brewery supported the tramway operation for many years by donating large quantities of spent malted barley from the brewing process as a feed supplement to assist the upkeep and welfare of the tram horses.
Daphne Caine is a member of the House of Keys, representing the Garff constituency since 2016. A former journalist and public relations officer, Daphne has 20+ years' experience working in Isle of Man Government departments covering tourism, leisure and transport, roles which included promotion of the Island's heritage railways and tramways.
Charles Guard is an author, broadcaster, film-maker, public speaker, talented musician and heritage conservationist. He was the chief officer of the Manx Heritage Foundation (now known as Culture Vannin) until his retirement in 2016. Charles continues his passion for promoting the heritage, landscape and people of the Isle of Man, work for which he received a lifetime achievement award in 2018. He is a trustee of the Milntown Estate near Ramsey and a non-executive director of Manx Radio.
Edward More is a retired director of compliance, risk management and change management with 25+ years' experience working in the UK financial services sector. He now runs a specialist modelmaking and heritage research practice based in Hampshire. His leisure interests are vintage machinery, industrial heritage and British rare farm-breed conservation.
Geoffrey Wilson is a retired office manager with 25+ years' experience working in the public and civil service sectors, latterly with the Legal Aid Board. He has a life-long enthusiam for the horse trams and the wider Manx heritage transport scene. After taking early retirement, Geoff moved to the Isle of Man to become more actively involved in supporting Manx heritage transport.
The Trust was formed by a deed in February 2018 and is registered as a charity (No.1238) in the Isle of Man, our activities are regulated by HM Attorney General for the Isle of Man. You can check our charity status on the Isle of Man Government's website.
